This is a complete Heathkit SB-104A station for restoration. Most of the gear actually works fine, but the transceiver displays an error code and I have not tried the phone patch or remote VFO. I purchased the gear to restore it, but life and professional obligations have kept me from ever doing any work on the rig. According to my research, the error code represents a problem with the ICs that handle displaying the frequency, which were known to be problematic and are now very difficult to obtain. To get around this, I purchased a kit (shown in the picture) that used modern components to create a direct replacement for the original board. I assembled the kit but never got around to installing it. Detailed information regarding each component is listed below.
Fully intact and mostly operational, but not functional. Cosmetically in good condition, could use a thorough cleaning. No cables other than the power supply cable, and the original microphone is not available. I am inlcuding a kit I purchased for about $30-40 that should restore the rig to normal operation, along with the manual (for the kit). I am also including original assembly and operation manuals as well as a reproduction operation manual for the SB-104 itself.
Fully operational. Cosmetically in the best condition of all the gear. I am including an original and a reproduction manual for the SB-1144, and a reproduction assembly/operation manual for the SB-604. Please note that while they share the same cabinet, the SB-604 Speaker and SB-1144 Power Supply are considered separate products by HeathKit.
I don't know if this unit operates, I have not tried. It is missing the rear panel, but appears to be fully intact. It is in good cosmetic condition (other than the missing rear panel), but like the transceiver could use a cleaning. I only have a reproduction assembly/operation manual for this piece, and it is included in this auction.
In case you don't know what a station monitor is, it is basically a simple oscilloscope used to monitor signals. This one seems to work fine, I have used it. I am including a reproduction assembly/operation manual for this piece. Cosmetically it is in good condition, but could use a thorough cleaning.
I do not believe that this patch actually goes with this set (although it will likely work with it), but I received it as part of the set. It is in good cosmetic condition (needs cleaning too), but I have never tried to operate it. I am including an original assembly/operation manual for the patch.
This unit is no longer available from the manufacturer, except in PCB only form. I have completely assembled and tested the kit, but one of the LED displays was defective. I received a replacement from the manufacturer, but did not install it. I am including the replacement display along with the original assembly manual from the manufacturer.
I don't know if the mic works, I purchased it on eBay some time ago, and the seller claimed it worked fine. The mic is in fair cosmetic condition. It has no connector on it, and I have no paperwork on it.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This gear is more than 20 years old and has not been used regularly for a long time. The gear is being sold for RESTORATION ONLY, much of the gear works, but I am selling the gear AS-IS, and am not promising any of the gear will work when it arrives (after shipping). The original manuals mentioned above are far from mint and show their age, in addition to having markings and notes from their original owners. The manuals are, however complete and readable.
